Beadwork

Beading is the first art form I remember learning.  My grandmother started teaching me how to work with seed beads when I was just a few years old.  As a child, I was especially drawn to the vibrant colours and transparency of the glass beads.  I enjoyed how they became illuminated as the sunlight passed through them and how the light took on the colour of the bead as it exited.  Investigating the interplay between light and colour has been a foundational aspect of my art practice since early on, and this is just another manifestation of that curiosity and appreciation.

Loom-in-essence

In 2022, I had the opportunity to start working on a series of experimental loom-based beadwork pieces, and to document my creative journey in a web series.  You'll find the complete project here.
